The Challenge

The book had momentum from 4,200 organic pre-orders, but the launch goal demanded nearly 2x the volume in a tight window. On top of that, Amazon visibility was effectively zero in the relevant subcategory charts, so the algorithm had nothing to build on.

Our Solution

A two-phase, data-first Meta Ads funnel: rapid audience and creative testing during pre-order, then aggressive scaling and retargeting during the order window.

  • Seeded lookalikes from 1,600 verified buyers and ran 12 interest tests to uncover new demand.
  • Tested a full creative battery of reels, images, carousels and signed-copy ads.
  • Ran a 5 landing-page experiment matrix, including a bonus signup form.
  • Implemented Pixel and CAPI for reliable, server-side bonus tracking.

Strategy in Action

  1. Seed and test. Used 1,600 natural buyers to build multiple lookalike segments while running a parallel 12-interest test.
  2. Creative and landing-page experimentation. Tested three creative angles against three landing-page variants to find the best creative-to-page pair.
  3. Data hygiene and tracking. Pixel plus CAPI on the bonus signup form captured server-side conversions and reduced attribution loss.
  4. Refine and scale. After 3 to 5 days of testing, winners were consolidated into scaling campaigns with ABO-style ad-set control.
  5. Retarget and convert. Urgency-driven retargeting on bonus signups and signed copies closed the order window.

The book reached #21 in Happiness Self-Help, surpassing titles like The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and Psycho-Cybernetics. Each purchase pushed the algorithm to improve Best Seller Rank, creating daily upward momentum and unlocking organic visibility.
